Hi Guys!
I'm Alan Harrison and I live in Washington; but originally hail from Stanley. I've been a music fan for over half a century, going to my first gig aged just 15 years old at Newcastle City Hall in 1973 (Rory Gallagher was the performer) and I still go to see live music most weeks.
I'm no stranger to the frequency 102.5FM, having previously presented a weekly show called The Jumpin' Hot Club which was similar to what the The Rocking Magpie show is, but concentrating on bands and singers coming to, and having previously played at the promoter Jumpin' Hot Club's gig's in Newcastle.
I now have a very popular reviews-based website of the same name; and The Rocking Magpie show will reflect the eclectic nature of our reviews; but specialising in Roots Music (think Blues, Folk, Country) and Americana!
There will be a mix of older/Classic songs and of course new releases, plus many 'Exclusives' from around the World; and our beloved Tyneside.
Each two-hour show will feature a local act in each hour plus a local Gig Guide with relevant acts having a track played too.
